In an effort to relieve some boarding stresses for your pet, we have separate dog and cat boarding area. Continuous music plays for our canine guests and there is television for our feline guests. Kennels are cleaned and sanitized twice daily. Cats are brushed and given one on one time daily, if that is something they enjoy. Prior to leaving our facility, our canine guests are given a kennel bath so that they go home refreshed.

If you do not bring your pet’s food, we feed our canine guests royal Canin GI Low Fat diet during their stay with us. This is an easily digested diet that helps reduce stress related problems that may occur when pets are away from their families. Our feline guests are fed IAMS Adult cat food. However, it is always best to bring your pet’s regular diet to be fed while boarding to avoid digestive issues.

When your pet goes home from boarding he/she may be very excited. Please DO NOT give your pet any water for the first hour after coming home. Let him/her settle down first then give small amounts of water frequently for about 6 hours. Nervous drinking may cause vomiting or diarrhea. If, however, vomiting and/or diarrhea continue after 24-36 hours, call River Heights Veterinary hospital. A staff doctor will examine your pet at no charge if problem is brought to the hospitals attention within 48 hours or discharge. If any tests or treatments are needed, charges will be incurred.
