The Faces That Greet You

From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, our experienced and compassionate veterinary care coordinators handle all your needs. Their smile is contagious and their goal is to assure your visit runs as smoothly as possible.

The Doctors

Reception Assistants/Kennel Care

Our team of veterinary assistants keeps the hospital spotless and running smoothly. From assisting the clients with their pets in the reception area to ensuring that all pets are comfortable and clean, they are always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.

Veterinary Technicians

Our veterinary technicians are a highly motivated team of professionals. Their daily routine consists of a variety of responsibilities including maintenance of ICU patients, assisting in surgery, ultrasound imaging, dental x-rays along with a full range of radiology procedures. Their pharmaceutical knowledge is very helpful in discussing treatment protocol with clients along with client education. They also maintain a fully equipped laboratory permitting on-site evaluations in hematology, serology, parisitology, microbiology and blood chemistry.

We treat each hospitalized pet as if it were our own, thus reducing the stress sometimes associated with being away from home.

Groomer

Jan is the full time groomer at River Heights and has many years of experience grooming both show dogs and your family pets. Her hobby is showing dogs - mainly Irish Setters and is pictured here with "Pippen"winning in Colorado last summer. She also is very involved in Irish Rescue - an adoption program for homeless setters; and with the Irish Setter Club of America's Health Committee. She is on the board of directors of the American Dog Owners Association which protects dog owner's rights and the special bond between mankind and canines.

Jan is a graduate of the University of Illinois (major in Animal Science - what else??) and is currently taking additional classes in computer graphics and web design.

She welcomes your questions about grooming (talk to her in person or leave a message at the reception desk). And thanks for entrusting your pets to her care.

Puppy Socialization Class Instructor

Pat has 14 years of dog training experience to help you get a good start with your new puppy. She continually attends seminars and conferences to enhance her education. She is certified by Purdue University in dog behavior medication and puppy socialization. Pat has instructed all kinds of dog training classes from puppy to novice obedience competition and agility competition. Pat also teaches at two park districts in the area doing basic dog obedience classes, in case you miss getting to puppy class. Pat will also do in home private lessons for your dog.

She is active in agility training and enjoys this as a great way to have fun with her dogs. Having fun in the main goal with any competition that she does.

She is the founder and president of Bailed Out Boxers. A boxer rescue group that provides a temporary home for abandoned, abused and stray boxers until a permanent home can be found. This is what she loves the most and has been doing rescue for 18 years.

Pat says, "come sign up and have great fun in our puppy classes learning good positive methods for training your puppy and solving puppy problems."
